How a hot potato works, from launch to snatch to burn.
Overview
hotpotato.fun is a launchpad for memeNFTs on Robinhood Chain. A hot potato is an NFT that anyone can snatch at any time. You pay the snatch price and it's yours, whether or not the holder wants to sell. The holder gets back more than they paid, and the snatch price steps up the potato's price curve, which is fixed when it's launched.
Hot potatoes are memes, not investments. The price only climbs while people keep snatching. Whoever is left holding the potato when the snatching stops is left with a potato that only has meme value.
Anyone can launch a potato, and the contract runs the rest on chain. Every fee the ecosystem earns goes to the potato vault, where it buys back and burns $POTATO.
How it works
The price curve
Every potato picks one of three curves at launch, locked for good. Each snatch steps the price up by the multiple for the price you paid, and every potato starts in the top row. The 2% fee comes out of each snatch and the holder gets the rest.
The vault
All fees from the hotpotato.fun ecosystem are directed to the potato vault.
Anyone can trigger the buyback and is rewarded with 0.25% of it for doing so.
Contracts
Two contracts, both verified on the Robinhood Chain explorer. Reviewed and tested, not audited.
We can open and close launches at any time. Once a potato is live, nobody can stop it being snatched, pause it or change its rules, not even us.
